• Terms in brief

I want you to be happy with your purchase: I sell everything in good faith, and will do what I can to make sure you receive high-quality parts that have been delivered safely and promptly.

Remember, though, that all parts are used, I have to reserve the right not to agree to a sale (e.g if there's a problem with your address), and that this site uses cookies.

  • Returns in brief

Everything comes with at least a 30-day guarantee, so contact me within that time and we'll make arrangements for a return, replacement, or refund of a faulty item.

If you're in the UK and want to send something back simply because you've changed your mind, make sure to let me know within 14 days: if you're further afield, remember that cost will probably preclude doing anything similar.

  • Privacy in brief

I'm not really interested in your information other than to correspond or deliver your parcel.

Unfortunately I have to entrust other companies with your data in order to do either of those things, and a glance at any corporate privacy policy invariably makes for pretty bleak reading: the best way to put it is to say that I'll only share your information with reputable companies as necessary, and we'll hope they do the same.

Privacy policy

This notice tells you what you can expect me to do with your personal information.

Information collection

To provide services, goods, delivery, and to operate customer accounts and guarantees, I usually collect the following: Names and contact details, addresses, purchase history, and website user information (including user journeys and cookie tracking). The lawful bases for collecting or using personal information to provide goods and services, and for the operation of customer accounts and guarantees are consent and contract: when you use this website you consent to sharing this information, and when you make a purchase you enter a contract which requires the use of your information to fulfil. The only source of personal information for this website is when you navigate to this website, or enter information directly.

Information retention

Unless you tell me that you'd like the data you've provided deleted, correspondence and order details are retained securely for my records until 5 years after I cease trading as Obscure Eclectics: if you've made a purchase but would like your data deleted, some information may have to be kept until compliance and tax obligations are met.

Information sharing

The data processor for this website is Shopify Inc, and so any information collected is likely to be visible to them. They will receive personal data like profile and contact information, device information, and payment information – which may then be passed on to other parties as necessary in line with their consumer privacy policy and overall privacy policy. By using this website you agree to the sharing of this information.

When I deliver something to you, it will be sent either by post or by courier, meaning I have to share your name, address, phone number, e-mail, and information about the parcel's contents with either Royal Mail or Parcel2Go. In the former case, your details may have to be passed on to another country's postal service, and in latter case, your information will also have to passed on again to a courier, as they only act as a shipping broker. By making a purchase, you agree to both Royal Mail and Parcel2Go's privacy policies. Where necessary, the data processors and delivery services may share personal information outside of the UK. When doing so, they comply with UK GDPR, making sure appropriate safeguards are in place.

Under data protection law, you have rights including: a right of access - to ask me for copies of your personal data; a right to rectification - to ask me to correct personal data you think is inaccurate or incomplete; a right to erasure - to ask me to erase your personal data in certain circumstances including the above; aright to restriction of processing - to ask me to restrict the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances; a right to object to processing - to object to the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances; a right to data portability - to ask that I transfer the personal data you gave me to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances; a right to withdraw consent – When consent is the lawful basis I use to receive your information, you have the right to withdraw your consent.

You don’t need to pay a fee to exercise your rights. If you make a request, I have one calendar month to respond to you. To make a data protection rights request, please contact me using the details on this website.

Complaints

If you have any concerns about our use of your personal data, you can make a complaint to me using the details on this website. If you remain unhappy with how your data has been used after raising a complaint, you can also complain to the ICO.
